Arctophile - someone who collects teddy bears. No - not me - just one of the many fascinating words I've picked up over the years working for consumer and business-to-business publications. You name it, I've written it - from articles on koi pond building and period home renovation to giftware retailing and bridal shop ownership - no topic is too tricky! I've also been lucky enough to do a fair bit of travel writing, mainly focusing on luxury honeymoons, though you're more likely to find me at Centre Parcs with the hubby and kids, than sipping Mojitos in the Maldives.
I've a degree in English and Drama, which cultivated a lifetime love for reading contemporary fiction - Lianne Moriarty is my current author of choice - as well as a passion for musical theatre.
I love art! There, I said it. I have always followed my passion for all things creative, drawing from a very young age. Having studied fine art through GCSE and A-Level, it was a foundation year before my degree that led me to the mighty Apple Mac and all things graphic design. I left university with a BA Hons in Graphic Media and landed my first job in magazine publishing at the age of 22 where I learnt so much about the industry and continue to do so over a decade later. I love finding new ideas and typefaces to suit, and I am inspired by my environment every day.
Outside of work, I am a mum to two young children who keep me on my toes. I enjoy live music, well music in general really. Spotify is always on here at Typopod HQ. I love travelling and am a bit of a foodie who enjoys eating out where possible! (not as much as I'd like these days!)
